Alternatives to Pay-Per-Lead for Moving Companies

Lead sites charge per lead, per click, or a cut of each job, so your cost rises with every customer. MovingRated OS is one flat fee, $109 a month, with no pay-per-lead and no commission. Lead sites can still bring new customers, so compare your cost per booked move.

How we made this page: our facts come from our own price list. Facts about other companies come from their public pages, and from other sites where noted as "reported by". All checked 2026-10-13. We make MovingRated OS, so we are not neutral. Prices change, so check each link. If something is out of date, tell us and we will fix it.

What some movers say about lead sites

  • HireAHelper: high commission, slow payouts.
  • Moving.com: price wars from shared leads, credit disputes, minimum spend is hard for small movers.
  • Thumbtack: charges for leads who never reply, budget spikes (Reddit, 2026).
  • Angi: leads that go nowhere or are out of area, hard to cancel, pushy sales.
  • Yelp Ads: sales calls, few clicks turn into jobs, billing after cancel.

How to work out your real cost

Cost per booked move = what you spent on leads ÷ jobs you booked from them.

For example, if a shared lead costs $25 and 1 in 10 leads books, you pay $250 to win one job. On a $1,000 move, that is 25% of the job. These numbers are an example, not data from us; use your own lead price and booking rate.

Software and leads do different jobs. Software helps you quote and book the customers you already get. Lead sites send you new names. Many movers use both.

Who each is best for

MovingRated OS may fit you if:

  • You already get calls and web forms and want to quote and book them with no per-lead cost.
  • You want to keep the customer's payment in your own account.
  • Note: MovingRated OS does not sell leads. Our Moving Jobs Board is coming soon.

A lead site may fit you better if:

  • You need new customers now and do not yet get steady calls.
  • You do labor-only jobs and want HireAHelper to handle booking and payment.
  • You want to test a small budget; Yelp Ads is month-to-month [2].
